Well, it looks like Dr. Mark Johnson, author of the "clamoring scum" article (http://www.eyeworld.org/article.php?sid=196) has an opinion about fake patient advocate/LASIK referral organizations.

There is no way to prevent an organization from simply being a rubber stamp, ‘Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval©’ for payment.”
